In the first verse, Allah Ta’ala has commanded Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to say; “ ہو الّٰلہ احد ” ( The truth is: Allah is One ) . The Arabic word ‘ Ahad ’ ( احد ) is normally translated as ‘One’ but also includes an additional sense which signifies that Allah is beyond composition, plurality and resemblance, which means that He is neither composed of any elements, nor does He have any partner, nor has He any resemblance to anything. The verse “ الّٰلہ الصّمد ” (Allah is besought of all, needing none) signifies that all people depend on Him, but He does not need anyone. The verse “ لم یلد ولم یولد ” (He neither begot anyone, nor was He begotten) means that Allah has no children, nor is He the child of anyone. The verse “ ولم یکن لہ کفوًا احد ” ( And equal to Him has never been anyone) means that there is no one in the entire universe, nor ever was, nor ever can be, who is similar to Allah, or equal in rank ...
