ABOUT THE RECENT EVENTS IN FRANCE - LAST PART

 I was going to write a series of posts about what is happening in France but then Austria happened and I lost all desire to write it. All I can write at this time is that we should all denounce terrorism together and our hearts go out to all those affected by these terrorist acts and their families. Period.

We all have a bond of humanity between us. We feel the pain when human beings are hurt, regardless of the religion, race, ethnicity or nationality of the victims.
To some of my Muslim brethren:
We will all have to account for our own actions one day, therefore;
- Even if some French colonialists killed tens or hundreds of thousands of Muslims in Africa, it does not give us the right to kill a single human being today.
- Even if some non-Muslims make caricatures of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) (Ma'az Allah) we are not allowed to mock or ridicule anyone else's prophets or gods or whatever they believe in, or start killing people for that matter. That is not what our religion teaches us. Our Allah is much greater than this. Our Rasool is much greater than this.
- In Islam it is the state which carries the right to administer punishment. If every individual in the society picks up a gun to enforce laws, soon we will all be dead.
- Even in declared war, Islam strictly prohibits killing of all non-combatants, especially old people, women, children, people of God belonging to any religion, and unarmed people who are not directly participating in armed conflict.
- There is NO concept of undeclared war in islam involving civilian targets.
- One cannot perform an Ibadah (act of worship) by breaching limits set by Allah Ta'ala, so if a person kills innocent people against Allah Ta'ala's commandments they should not pretend they are doing it to serve Allah's Deen (religion). They are not!
If any Muslims know about such events in advance and do not report them to authorities, they are accessory to murder. It is important to remember that murder is one of those breaches of rights of people (Huqooq al-Ibad) which is almost impossible to do repentance from, because the victim is not alive to forgive, and Allah Ta'ala does not accept repentance (Taubah) from violations of rights of people unless the aggrieved party forgives them.
