ZUHUD (زہد) (NOT HAVING LOVE OF MATERIAL WORLD)

(In Shariah terminology Zuhud means not having that degree of love for Dunya (material world) which makes a person neglectful of the Aakhirah (Hereafter), or makes him prioritize betterment in this life over betterment in the next one.)

“Accumulating wealth is not completely against Zuhud, but it is against Zuhud to use that wealth in sinful activities and interest. Only Allah Ta’ala knows who will seek more of His nearness in affluence and who in poverty, therefore, He keeps some rich and some poor.” (MAAT-RE)
