TAKABBUR AND ITS TREATMENT - 6

RECONCILING THE TWO

It is important to understand here that a person cannot deny reality. If one person is educated and the other one is illiterate, how can the scholar say that he does not have knowledge? And clearly, knowledge is superior to ignorance. The Holy Qur’an says;

…Can those who know and those who do not know become equal?” (39:9)

It means that the person with knowledge is better than the one who does not possess knowledge. So, how can the person with knowledge deny its existence? Or, for example, a person is physically stronger than another person. It is natural for the healthier person to believe that he is healthier or stronger than the person who is sick or weak. Or, for example, if someone is richer than someone else, it is natural for him to believe that he has more wealth than the other person. But if these people now believe that they are more knowledgeable, healthier, stronger or wealthier than someone else, would that constitute Takabbur? How to reconcile these two?
