DOING GOOD TO THOSE WHO HARM US

 DOING GOOD TO THOSE WHO HARM US

In the Holy Qur'an Allah Ta'ala says;

“…and those who control anger and forgive people. And Allah loves those who do good.” (3:134)

In the interpretation of this verse, wise elders have described three stages of moral character of a true Muslim.

At the first stage, even if someone hurts them or causes them harm, they do not take revenge.

In the second stage, they not only do not take revenge, they also forgive them in that they even forget that this person caused them harm.

In the third and the highest stage, they go one step higher and do good to the person who had harmed them, and this was the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ .

I must admit that in my personal life, it is one of those Sunnah of the Holy Prophet ﷺ which I have found most challenging to follow. May Allah Ta'ala forgive me. Aameen
