 CAN SHARIAH LAWS BE RE-DEFINED IN THE 21ST CENTURY?

Now that we have understood the four sources of rulings in Shariah, lets return to the original question whether Shariah laws can be changed now as they were set nearly 1500 years ago. 

 

The answer to the question above is that those laws of Shariah that have been clearly laid out in the two primary sources of rulings in Shariah i.e. Qur’an and Hadith, can never be changed till the end of time. For example, if lying, stealing, robbery, drinking alcohol, and eating certain kinds of meat, have been declared Haraam (unlawful) in Qur’an, they will always remain unlawful, and no Islamic scholar will ever have the authority to issue a decree declaring them Halal (permissible).
