ISLAM AND THE WEST - 45

 Islam has placed so much emphasis on earning a Halal income that the Holy Prophet ﷺ has said;

 

“There are many people who debase themselves in front of Allah, in that their hair are scattered, they beg and cry while praying, ‘O Allah! Please grant me this or that.’ They pray very meekly but their food is Haraam (unlawful), what they drink is Haraam, what they are wearing is Haraam, and their whole body has been raised on Haraam income. How can such a person’s prayer be accepted?”

THE FIRST 5 YEARS

Some time ago a couple asked me for some advice about their 3 years old son's behaviour. In psychiatry, the dictum is that problem in children are often indicative of problems in their environment, and the younger the child, the more strongly this principle holds true. I, therefore, asked them in detail about their interaction with the child.  I found out that they both did full-time, quite high-powered, very demanding jobs. Before going to work, they left their only son at the daycare so early that he was still sleeping.
